Firewall Administrator

Our utility client is seeking experienced Firewall Administrators to join their team in Tampa, FL. This role involves supporting and troubleshooting firewall infrastructure, implementing and maintaining VPN configurations, and participating in large-scale firewall upgrades. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ICS protocols, experience in a regulatory environment, and the ability to work after hours for critical implementations.
Key Responsibilities:
Firewall Management:
- Upgrade, deploy, and implement new firewalls across the organization.
- Troubleshoot and resolve firewall-related issues.
- Create and modify firewall rules as needed.
VPN Management:
- Configure, troubleshoot, and support VPN connections.
- Implement new VPNs to meet business needs.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., SOX, NERC CIP).
- Implement security measures to protect critical infrastructure.
ICS Protocols:
- Understand and work with ICS protocols, including ICS, Modbus, and CIP.
On-call Support:
- Participate in after-hours work (typically 7 PM EST or MT, once a week) for implementations and critical updates.
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in upgrading, deploying, and implementing new firewalls.
- Strong knowledge of VPN creation, configuration, and troubleshooting.
- Understanding of ICS protocols (ICS, Modbus, CIP).
- Experience working in a regulatory environment (e.g., SOX, NERC CIP).
Preferred Qualifications (Plusses):
- Experience with Check Point Firewalls.
- Fundamental understanding of routing and switching.
Work Environment:
- Location: Local to the Tampa area, with on-site work required at least 3 days a week.
- Hours: Regular business hours with required availability for after-hours work at least once a week.
